Pumpkin Carving!

It had been years (many years) since I had last carved a pumpkin! Casie had the fabulous idea to carve pumpkins one night after the kiddos went to bed, so our friend the Jolley's and the Whipples joined us. It was a lot of work and quite time-consuming... but definitely worth it!

Jess, Darcy, Ryan, Derek, Casie - Yeah they all knew I was taking the photo, Jess was just the only willing to smile! :)

The final products. Darcy, Jess, Becca, Ryan, Derek, Casie

I think they looked pretty good lit up, just wish I could of gotten a better picture! I think Dwight looks awesome in this one - go Casie!

And since I had left over dough, we went ahead and made more cinnamon rolls... I know... so healthy... but they were so worth it :)

I had to make a batch with caramel on the top too, another one of my Dad's specialties!

Cinnamon Rolls!

I remember my Dad making the best cinnamon rolls when I was growing up! It was definitely a good Sunday afternoon when we would clear off the kitchen table and roll out the dough long enough to cross the whole table. Dad would let us help sprinkle toppings, roll the dough, and even cut it when we got older.

I had only made cinnamon rolls once since we have been married and so I decided it was time to try again! This time I had my own little helpers :) We had a lot of fun and the rolls turned out pretty good for my second try... but they could still use some help... we will keep trying.

After making dough on the stove top (crazy, I know), we rolled it out and spread on the butter!

Then Brinley and Casen got to help sprinkle on cinnamon, sugar and brown sugar - yum!

Brinley wanted to get a picture of me helping with the cinnamon rolls too :)

Baked!

Iced!

Quick run to feed the ducks!

We had some leftover popcorn, old cereal, and stale bread... so what better to do then feed the ducks and geese? We ran over to Floyd Lamb real quick before heading to the gym, and the kids all had fun feeding the birds with their own little food baggies.

Big hug with Ava! Brinley has been insisting on dressing herself lately and doing her own hair. This can be a good... or a bad thing :) Either way it is fun to see what combinations she comes up with!

Looking for fish... no such luck!

Casen thought he would get a better look and went down under the bridge, then slipped and fell in the super slimy mud!

Lake Powell with the Nelsons!

Quenalee treated us to a fabulous few days at Lake Powell! We had so much fun hanging out with the Nelson gang!

Brinley loves her cousin Rachel! They were very excited to spend a few days together :)

The sunsets at Powell are always beautiful, wish I could of captured this one better... the picture definitely doesn't do it justice.

Puffed French Toast covered in cinnamon and sugar, we had some happy girls for breakfast!

Brigham brought this fun road mat and Casen had so much fun playing with it. At the end of the trip Brigham surprised Casen and gave it to him. It was so sweet and he loves it!

We had a kayak escape, so Brinley and Ryan swam out and saved it.

Casen looking cute as can be... I know, I'm biased :)

Brinley and Casen had a lot of fun pushing Ryan into the water, repeatedly.

Casen's "I pushed Dad over" laugh!

Casen kickin' back and relaxing.

Quenalee and Anna tubing, they looked like they were having so much fun out there!

Brinley and Uncle Alex

Riding the tube with Uncle Alex

"Ah hold baby?" Casen kept asking to hold baby Stratton, he finally got his wish. He just loves babies and I think he will be a great big brother.

Quenalee set out to relax in the water, but Brinley and Rachel had way too much fun pushing her around.

Quenalee's sister, Aunt Bubbles was able to join us, and we were so glad! My kids love her and so do we!

One last run before heading into the dock.

18 weeks baby!

So I am way behind on blogging... but I took this picture on Sept. 16th when I was 18 weeks along. I will be posting my 22 week photo soon... never knew I could grow so much in 4 short weeks!

Brinley came to my ultrasound with me and she did so good. I was amazed at how well she could see the baby. She kept pointing out her "cute little face" and "tiny hand". It was so fun to have her there, crazy to think she was the one on the ultra sound just a few years ago!

Baby Nelson at about 20 weeks. Still a girl :) They changed my due date to February 15, 2011.

Randomness

So I take a lot of random pictures, and need some place to put them. So here is my random post for the month.

Brinley's high heels. I pick up shoes about 57 times a day. When I saw these little shoes sitting in the corner, I realized one day I am going to miss that.

Brinley was spinning around on one of our swings, and hit her face on the double swing next to her. The result was one of her teeth going through her bottom lip. She cried pretty hard, but the popsicle did wonders... it also stopped the bleeding.

Brinley was playing Mommy and "decorating" the house.

My long-time friend/second cousin Kimberly came to visit with her two boys, Caleb and Joey, and her boy friend came to visit. It was fun to see her and her cute little boys!

I love it when these two kiddos actually play together!

Casen loves to build train tracks and line up his trains on them. For some reason I really liked this one, I call it "no where to go."

I know this may not be the most flattering picture, but I just couldn't capture the moment! I drink wheat grass every morning, and to keep from throwing up I plug my nose. Casen felt the need to plus his nose when drinking his orange juice :)

Brinley and Casen lined up all of his toys from smallest to biggest. I would say they did a pretty good job. This is their victory dance.
