Braxton Kellen Nelson joins our Family!

Once 2013 was over and we missed the chance to have a baby in 2013 (for tax and insurance purposes) we really wanted the baby to wait til Ryan's parents came... and thankfully he did. Dale and Quenalee arrived on Thursday the 9th of January and the kids were so excited! I went in at 7am the next morning to be "induced."
The kids were very excited to see Grandma and Grandpa... I think Marlee waited by the door for at least 30 minutes.  The kids saved their after school snack so they could join them :)

Our last picture as a family of 5! Our kids were so excited... especially little Marlee :)

Do I look ready or what!? I think I felt more ready with this baby than any of the others. Look at my poor feet!

The morning started off great... a little pitocin and we were on our way. Or so I thought....

4 hours later and nothing! Like from a 0 to a 1! What!? The increased the pitocin even more and still very little increase after several hours. I ended up getting an epidural around 3:00 or 4:00. Finally my water broke and meconium filled water went everywhere! My nurse couldn't believe how much fluid I had in there! (Just like with Marlee) Shortly after they got my all cleaned up even more water came gushing out. We thought it would really speed up the labor but still not much happened. They checked me at 6 and I was still just a 4, then suddenly the contractions really started to kick in. By 7:45 I felt like I was close. Sure enough they checked me and it was time to push! Just a couple pushes later our sweet baby boy arrived!

Born at 7:58 pm on January 10, 2014. 8 lbs 3 oz of cute chubby baby!

Oh his face, I just love him. He fits right in with the rest of our kids and I love it :)

I can hardly believe just how fast we fall in love with these perfect spirits sent straight from Heaven.

He is just perfect.

Seeing Ryan hold, love, and adore our babies is one of my favorite parts of having a newborn. Nothing like it.

I was so hungry and so excited to eat about 1 hour after his arrival... but as soon as I ate a bagel I threw it right back up. :(  My first time ever to throw up when a baby was born. Fortunately I was able to get some food down shortly afterwards.

This is so sad! Poor babies, they just have no idea what hits them!

This one looks so much like Brinley to me.

Now I know where they get the term "bundle of joy" :) They truly bring SO much JOY.

I was SO excited to have the kids come meet their baby brother and they were SO excited too... especially Marlee. They all patiently took turns and loved every moment.

Finally holding the baby brother her prayed for!

As happy as can be to have "her baby" FINALLY arrive!

The responsible and loving big sister, old enough to really appreciate a baby!

Grandma Q! Don't know what we would do with out this wonderful lady!

Grandpa Dale! He has loved us and taken us right in, so glad that Braxten will grow up with him as his Grandpa!

Enjoying my one on one time with this precious baby before heading home to the chaos :) I brought my computer thinking I would get some blogging done but couldn't pry myself away from him.

Both resting on our chubby cheeks :) I LOVE having a newborn sleep against you. Priceless.

Headed home almost 48 hours later!

Can't believe we are headed home from the hospital with a sweet new baby for our FOURTH time!

So happy we are home! We got home an hour after church had started and thought we had a couple hours to settle in... but they all went home after sacrament and surprised us :)

She. Is. In. Love.

My 4 beautiful children. I feel so incredibly blessed. Words can not describe.

A fun surprise from our sweet friend Dale, Darlene, DJ and Daphne in Las Vegas. We love and miss them! The kids loved eating this yummy treat!

First night at home!

But our nights at home did not last :( By that night was running a high fever, achey, shaking, etc. We went to the "ER" for post baby and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me after running several tests. So we went home and went to bed. By 5 am the next morning I was 104 degrees, in so much pain I couldn't stand, had hot and cold chills, etc and we knew we had to go back in. They finally figured out I had a Uterus infection and ADMITTED me to the hospital! What!? I was all excited and thought I would be sent on my way with an antibiotic when they told me the diagnosis, but NO. I had to be fever free with no meds for 24 hrs before they would let me leave! I checked in on a Monday morning and was told to expect to be there til Wednesday or Thursday. They hooked me up to an IV and pumped 3 different antibiotics in me ever 4-6 hours for 48 hours. I could not believe I was back in the hospital. I was so anxious to get out and be with all my babies! We didn't have any of our stuff and they said Braxton could only stay with me as long as someone else was there so that meant all 3 of us stuck in the room. Sister Rasband (our bishops wife) came over for a few hours so Ryan could run home and get stuff for all of us. She was so sweet to help. I am so thankful Ryan's parents were there and stepped up to the plate taking care of the kids for longer than they had expected!

Brinley made us this sweet note for our hospital room :)

Dale and Q were so nice to bring the kids to visit us! I needed to see them!

And this is what it was like for 3 days!

The good news is that this was my view.... does it get any better??

So glad that this angel was able to stay by my side the whole time!

Milk beard and all :)

We ended up having to stay 72 hours and made it home just in time to see Casen do a couple tricks from Grandma and Grandpa.

Dale and Q had to leave less than 1 hour after we got home from the hospital. Oh the blessings we received despite this set back! So grateful for them taking care of and loving our children for an entire week!

I could not have been happier to be home finally and have sweet Braxton in our family!
